L2TP connected successfully in win7 ping everywhere is OK but no webpage opens
I have successfully made a connection to RRAS VPN server 2008 with IPSEC presharedkey enabled on server and the same at client. so vpn connection fully registered on remote network and vpn established but weired thing happens: when i ping everywhere such as google.com it works and seems internet is also reachable, but when i open a webpage using http, facing with no success. also when i use PPTP tunneling there is no problem with the same server and both ping google.com and webpage surfing works fine. This only occurs when using L2TP with IPSec preshared key. maybe it needs some static route or somethingelse on the server side only for L2TP packets which cannot be routed when using http protocol. The IPSec encryption of the connection is AES 128. I tried with another server which its encryption was ESP 3Des and there was no problem there. would you help me please what's the problem.

Hi, According to your description, the issue may related with the security configuration with VPN server on Windows Server 2008. I suggest to contact Windows Server forum for further help: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/category/windowsserver The reason why we recommend posting appropriately is you will get the most qualified pool of respondents, and other partners who read the forums regularly can either share their knowledge or learn from your interaction with us. Thank you for your understanding. Furthermore, you can try to temporary disable firewall on client for test. Regards, Leo HuangLeo Huang TechNet Community Support
