LIMITED CONNECTIVITY
I HAVE A COMPAQ PRESARIO V6000. IT HAS WINDOWS 7. WHEN I CONNECT A LAN CABLE TO MY LAPTOP IN MY COLLEGE , THE CONNECTION SHOWS LIMITED CONNECTIVITY AND UNIDENTIFIED NETWORK. BUT WHEN I CONNECT THE SAME LAPTOP AT MY Uncle's HOME IT GETS CONNECTED. THE IP ADDRESS IN BOTH IPV6 AND IPV4 ARE SET AT OBTAIN AUTOMATICALLY . THE PHYSICAL ADDRESS OF THE COMPUTER SHOWS 00-00-00-00-00-00-00. WHAT MIGHT BE THE PROBLEM? PLEASE HELP. I AM NOT ABLE TO USE THE LAN CONNECTION AND THE WIFI HERE IS VERY SLOW. :(

Hi Yatin, Start\Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network and Sharing Center Click on the Unidentified network and configure it as a Public network to enable the proper security for your computer. You can also use the connect to a network wizard and create a new Public connection. If a user logon is required, you may need to configure that in the connection setup.
Free Windows Admin Tool Kit Click here and download it now

It should not be the problem of your computer. Does any other computer that connects to the port in your college work properly? How does it work if you connect to another port in your college? When getting limited connection, your computer actually connects to the local area network, but cannot connect to Internet via the LAN. Therefore you may need to check if the LAN is connected to Internet properly. If you are using a router, check the router configuration. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
