LInksys Print Server
I have a Linksys print serverthat I was able to get working using LDP instead of thelinksys setup. The problem I have is that for some reason the bi-directional button isgreyed out when I addthe printerso I can't use the scanner funcionality. I am using a Brother MFP-8220 which works fine when connected via USB.

I had a similar problem with my Brother MFC-7840N. I downloaded the latest Vista drivers and installed those. This didn't fix that particular problem however. What I found the issue to, be had to do with the inbound UDP being blocked by the firewall. When I opened this up things worked fine. I could push scanned documents to my Windows 7 box from the Printer/Scanner. I found information for doing this at the Brother support Web site. There is a particular port number. Unfortunately I am currently at the airport about to get on a plane so I can't direct you to the document very easily. However. Take a look around at Brothers support site. This was a know issue sometimes with Vista, and various firewall products I believe.Good luck!
