What is your W7 build (7100 or7600) and version (Ultimate, etc...)? If you have Windows 7 RC Ultimate version (build 7100), you can download English language pack (MUI)through Windows Update. If you a TechNet subscriber you can download interface pack (LIP)from the TechNet where you downloaded RTM version. My English is not very well.

You can change your German version with a MUI (available for RC, I'm not sure if the "language packs" available for RTM at TechNet are the same*). LIPs won't help you as there is no English LIP. - You should be aware that even a MUI doesn't change everything, especially not some internal names used by system commands (f.e. "System Reserved" for the 100 MB boot partition is given other names in other native versions), so you can't upgrade from a German version (with or without MUI) to a higherEnglish version. * Checked it in the meantime. The "Multiple Languages Pack" indeed holds all 35 MUIs; it's not available via WU, only for subscribers.
