Lenovo Netbook Windows 7 BOOTMGR is missing
Hi,I have stupidly extended a disk volume on my new Lenovo S10-3t Netbook to increase my C: Drive and to use all available space. However, upon rebooting I now get the dreaded 'BOOTMGR is missing' message. The Netbook was supplied with no 'Windows 7 Starter' media and no apparent recovery partition - So my question is, 'how do I make a bootable USB recovery disk?'Thanks...

I am sure that gave you a way to recover, they have to.http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/IdeaPad-S-series-Netbooks/Guide-Create-Recovery-Media-for-an-Ideapad-S10/td-p/115340;jsessionid=3D2F1F2C2D8E1A432C4A4B6AB97A8A8D

I've had a good read but can't see anything that addresses my specific issue of no Windows 7 media to perform the recovery via a USB flash drive.Did I miss a key section perhaps? Many Thanks...

Hi,You will have to use another computer with DVD drive and a usb stick that is the same size as install discUse this download to copy your OS install disc to USB stick.http://wintoflash.com/download/en/Put the program into a folder name it wintoflash and Unzip the download. Now look for an application icon that looks like a yellow T on its side, double click it to start programUse the programs wizard set up. Point to your OS install disc in DVD drive, then add drive letter for USB stick Wintoflash will now copy the Win OS to usb disc. When finished you will now have to restart the computer with the problem,to change the boot order in bios. Make the USB stick first boot.If you have a .ISO image of an OS which you have downloaded you can mount it in a virtual disc drive withhttp://download.cnet.com/MagicDisc/3000-7970_4-10383679.html Then do the same as above. Please bear in mind, that my answer is based on the details given in your post. The more I get the better the answer, Slan go foill, Paul

The OP stated he has NO media, that means he has nothing to copy over.I do not use nor do I know anyone who has that make laptop, BUT from I can find on the net, you should have been givin something called onekey restore.Did you purchase the laptop new?? if so then you should have a way to restore windows as the OEM vendar HAS to supply you a way to restore. So if you got it new and did not get this you need to contact the vendor.

I previously thought I'd blown away any hidden restore partitions but, thanks to your pointers, I have now located the very descreet OneKey rescue system button. The down side appears to be that it can only restore the factory image or previous restore points (which of course I don't have) so all my data has gone, which is not a big deal because it's only 2 weeks old. I did see on other forums that OneKey was a bit useless so had subconciously discounted this as a potential recovery option. On reflection, it has at least got me back up and running fairly quickly. Thanks to all...

I just ran into the same problem with a custom built machine. I just put the restoration disk in and it booted up normally and I have rebooted with out the disk and it is working fine. I told it to boot in normal mode. I didn't have to reinstall windows 7.

hey this is what i did, to start off mine is a HP netbook so went to hp website and it said to press F11 on start up so i did that and that took me into the Recovery Manager which took care of the problem of BootMgr Missing, i was thinking it was gonna so much hassle buying the recovery disk and since it has no cd drive too much money spent but thankfully this was easier than i thought
