Licensing Windows 7 Enterprise
Our company has Windows 7 Enterprise Upgrade License purchased through Enterprise agreement. We should replace our old PCs with new. In order to have right to install Windows 7 Enterprise on these PCs, we should buy some version of Windows 7, and then install Enterprise version. My question is - what is the minimal version of Windows 7 we should purchase, i.e. could we purchase Windows 7 Home and then install Enterprise with this Windows 7 Enterprise Upgrade License, or we must have Windows 7 Professional?

It doesn't matter what version of Windows comes with the pc's, could even be XP, as long as the machines meet the minimum hardware requirements for installing Windows 7 Enterprise.

I would add that you do not need to install a previous OS and then upgrade. When you buy a Upgrade license via Enterprise Agreement you can install Enterprise directly, no need to install another version of the OS first.
