LinkSYS router - intel WiFI 4965 AGN Cannot connect to internet
First post... Problem: Brand new LinkSys WRT54GS router - brand new SONY VAIO VGC-LT15E All in One computer with built in - intel Wireless WiFI Link 4965 AGN ------Cannot connect to internet INFO: -Desktop Computer #1 DELL - XPOS - attached to LinkSys Router WRT54GS - works fine with internet -Desktop Computer #2 - XP OS - using LinkSys adapter WUSB54GSC - works fine with internet located one floor below router PLUS15 more feet away -Desktop computer #3 - SONY VAIO VGC-LT15E All in One Computer with built in INTEL wireless WiFi Link 4965 AGNcan't yet get to work - located on same floor with router about 15 feet away in another room -Security - Have configured router to only permit computers on my list of MAC addresses; I have entered the C#2 and C#3 MAC addresses; I have put in SSID WPA Personal TKIP So how do I get my C#3 to work with the router wirelessly? LinkSys says to call intel... is that really necessary? Fivbert

First, we should determine if it's just a lack of internet connectivity, or if it's a complete lack of a network connection.Helpful would be ipconfig info from both the VAIO, and a working PC.Open a command prompt on one of the XP machines (perferably the wireless one), and type ipconfig /all.Repeat that on the Vista PC.To copy the output to the clipboard (to paste it into your reply; or, in the case of the Vista box, to copy it into Notepad, so that you can move it to a working PC):Right-click anywhere in the command window > select all > hit <enter>. Hi Fivbert, Please refer to the following Microsoft Knowledge article to check if it helps. Windows Vista cannot obtain an IP address from certain routers or from certain non-Microsoft DHCP servers http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928233 If the issue still persists, please run IPCONFIG /ALL and post the result on the forum.
