Linksys WMP54GS problems in Windows 7
Upon initial setup, I used Windows Update to get the driver for my wireless G card, its actually a newer version than what's available on the official Linksys site. The card connects fine, I have 4 bars, but after 5-20 mins. the card stops working. So I'll try to disable the adapter or try to disconnect/connect from the network but it doesn't work, just gets stuck at an infinite load. After doing either of those AND THEN trying to restart/shut down, I get a brief error message about not being able to connect to a network which disappears too quick to read the whole thing. It then goes to the shut down screen and just gets stuck at an infinite shutdown. The icon moves but it just never shuts down. Now mind you, if I shut down before the card freezes, the shut down process is fine and does not get hung up. Any help or suggestions? My router btw is a Netgear WNR2000 using WPA security.

Please run Windows Update and confirm that you are running the latest updates for your wireless network adapters. If you have the latest updates and you are still seeing problems, please reply with: --- make/model of the Wi-Fi card and drivers. You can get this by typing "netsh wlan sho dr" on the command promptThanks,Alok ManchandaMicrosoft Corporation

Update2: The Broadcom driver works great. I've been web surfing and did a 5gigfile transfer from system to system without any problem. Great job MS.Update: Just went windows update. It's updated to a Broadcom 802.11g driver + added a Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter driver. Hopefully this works. I have the exact same problem as describe by sabinblitz. Connection drops and stuck at shut down after checking the wireless card network properties. Only way to notget stuck at the shut down phase is to reboot without checking the card's network properties. Here is the info from the command prompt. I have tried2 of thesecards. They bothshow the same error after some internet/networkusage. The connection doesn't drop for hoursas long as I don't use the internet or transfer files over the network. Thanks for the help. Use Device Manager Click "Rollback Driver" Stay away from driver updates if your driver is working.

I have a similar problem. My linksysWMP54GS card seems to work with the Broadcom drivers, I can see my network and try to connect, but I can't access the internet at all. It tells me there was a problem connected to the network and says "limited connectivity". What do I do?
