Linksys Wireless G PCI adapter not working on Winodws 7 RC
I just installed the RC and I have a Linksys WMP54G wireless G PCI adapter and it is not appearing in the adapters list. My network center obviously cannot find any connections as a result. Also, the back of the PCI card on the back of my computer usually has a green light flashing, but it hasnt been on ever since i installed the RC. I had Beta before this, since it was released and didn't have any problems.

Linksys... hmm, Well the driver should work from Vista, but it is not showing up in the adapters.... Try a restart and then after the restart see if there are any unknown adapters in the PCI slots list them:

I found out, I had to go to device manager, then go to the network adapters and it was there as "unkown adapter" or something like that. Then i updated the driver by loading the drivers from the CD. hope this helps if anybody else has this problem

Thanks! I had the same problem and resolved it by your suggestion. Windows 7 doesn't recognize the Wireless-G PCI Adapter so you have reinstall the driver from their website: http://www.linksysbycisco.com/APAC/en/products/WMP54G?lid=LearnMore_WMP54G

Okay, now I have a good Solution for your Problem:
1- Go to www.ralinktech.com --> Click Support --> click Windows OR Click
here !
2- Download " PCI/mPCI/CB (RT256x/RT266x)"
3- Run and Install it (as adminisrator)
4- go to "Device Manager" and right click on "Network..." (at "other devices")
5- update Driver software... --> Brows my computer for driver software --> let me pick from a list ... --> Click "Network adapters"
6- Select "Ralink technology Corp." at the Left Column then Select "802.11G Wireless PCI Adapter"[With Capital G]
7. Enjoy :-)
As you Know your Wireless Card is "Linksys" but LinkSys is "CISCO"! and also Its Chip is "Ralink"!
Linksys Name: "Wireless G"
CISCO name: "WMP54G"
Ralink Name: "RT256X/RT266X or ...!!"
:-( what a mess
