Local Area Connection doesn't have a valid IP configuration - tethered modem using Motorola Q9c
I find a lot of stuff in the forums about this problem, but not in relation to a tethered modem using a Motorola Q9c smartphone and windows 7 OS. I have talked at length with US cellular and they keep telling me it is a PC issue with an internet configuration. The reason they say this is that when I connect my usb cord, my Windows Mobile Device Center opens then I go to my phone under internet sharing and connect. According to the phone it says connected and the PC recognizes the connection, but I don't get any internet connectivity. I open my properties for the local connection inside the network and sharing center and then click on the diagnose button. It then comes back with the above issue (Local Area Connection doesn't have a valid IP configuration). I don't know where to go from here since US Cellular is being no help at all. I thought I should also mention that I can go to my old laptop with Vista installed and can get on in about 30 seconds with no problem. I have opened up the same connection information on the vista machine while connected with the tethered modem and can see no visable differences with the settings. If anyone can help and am stumped on this one. Thanks

Hi, thank you for posting here. Please make sure the driver and programs you have installed are compatible with Windows7. Try to login with Clean Boot to see if the same issue occurs. As it works well in Windows Vista, you can use it with Vista Compatible Mode 1. Right click the program and click the Properties option. 2. Select the Compatibility tab. 3. Select the Run This Program in Compatibility Mode option. 4. From the drop-down list, choose the operating system you ran before upgrading to Vista. 5. If necessary, select the option to run the program as an administration. 6. Click OK. Hope it helps. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
