My server is on xp and client is on vista.When client copied a file(400k) to shared folder on server, the server cannot open the file. The file seems still locked by the client for another 10 seconds, then the server can access. How to overcome this? I need to process the file instantly or at least need to know when I can access it.

In certain situations the copying does not complete even it shows because data needs to be transferred from the RAM to the hard drive. Additionally, at the end of the copying, security features may scan the program and confirm if it is safe. Your anti-virus may also scan it.
