Loss of ability to access shared folders on another computer
I have a simple network built round a modem/router/switch to which are attached:BroadbandDeskside running XP SP2 by ethernet "DSIDE"Laptop running Vista Home Premium by wireless "LAP"Printer by ethernetUntill recently I have been able to share folders both ways between the two computers.Now reconnection of those shares fails with the message "Network path was not found"Attempts to establish connections using NET USE fail with error 53.DSIDE is shown on the Network Map on LAPOn LAP "NET USE x: \\LAP\<share on LAP>" gives error 53On DSIDE "NET USE x: \\DSIDE\<share on DSIDE" is successfulBoth computers have access to the internetThe problems started after 1. The latest Vista upgrades were applied2. I upgraded Kaspersky Internet Security to version 8For a time I was able to establish connections after rebooting; that is no longer the case.Any suggestions?

Hello Jack CR2, Kaspersky Internet Security includes a built-in personal firewall program. If you haven't already, make sure it is properly configured for the local area network. An improperly configured firewall can block file and printer sharing. If you continue to have problems, thentemporarily disable or uninstall Kaspersky and check the result.
