Lost User Admin Account
I rebooted and when I logged on my Admin/User Account was reset to its original version, XP even though I still have all my files on C: its just a pain to get to certain files when they were once readily available on the desktop or under the user profile. I tried many things, Computer Management to see if it was turned off, reboot in Safe mode to see if was there, System restore was turned off during that time, logged in to all the users to see if it might have moved to another account but no good...Need help restoring my Original User Account Proflie, any thoughts ??

It appears that you're running Windows XP. This is a Windows 7 forum. I would ask the experts in a Windows XP forum, e.g. here: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/xprepair/threads.

Hello, MondozIf you have files located in C:\ and you want them on your desktop, select the files/folders then right click and select Cut. Now right click on a blank area of the desktop and select Paste. This will move all of those files to your desktop.DavidMicrosoft Answers Support EngineerVisit our Microsoft Answers Feedback Forum and let us know what you think.

The symptoms sound like your user profile became corrupted. If so, the first thing you should try is to do a "chkdsk" on the machine. Often this will solve your problem:"How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP" < http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315265 >If this does not work, the second course of action would be to do a "System Restore" to a point in time before you had this problem""How to restore Windows XP to a previous state" < http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306084 >If this doesn't work, one of the following recovery articles should get you fixed up:"How to recover the damaged user profile in Windows XP" < http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555473 >"How to copy data from a corrupted user profile to a new profile in Windows XP" < http://support.microsoft.com/kb/811151 >HTH, JW
