Lost password for ASUS NetBook without disk drive
I upgraded the OS to Windows 7 Home Premium via an internet connection, but Amazon didn't supply a disk. I've ordered a USB drive so that I can install Windows again, but where do I go to get the disk I need to install Windows? Do I need to contact Amazon.com?

Which OS was installed when you purchased the netbook? The key for that should be on the netbook. Did you perform a Windows Anytime Upgrade? If yes, you should have received an email confirmation with the license key. Did you print that email? Do you have it at your ISP email account? If, no you can contact Amazon support and ask them to resend the purchase confirmation email with the license for Home Premium. Then when you reinstall the OS, immediately perform the Windows Anytime Upgrade again using the license key. Get an external hard drive and make a complete pc backup or system image. Then you boot from the usb and restore the system.

Thanks very much for the help, but Microsoft very kindly offered to supply me with a Home Premium disk, which should arrive in a day or two. I also ordered an external drive and USB hub which should enable me to reinstall Home Premium. There was nothing crucial on the Netbook. Thanks again! You jest, right?

Thanks again for your helpful suggesiton. I tried one I found there, but it didn't work, probably because I deleted the administrator account, keeping my login as the only such account on the system. I was able to get support from Microsoft, including the commitment to send me a disk for Win7 Home Premium, which I got by way of Windows Anytime Upgrade via Amazon.com. The only problem with that was they didn't actually send it until I called Support back, got the number of the "parts" distribution center 800-360-7561, and called them. It didn't take long for the contact there to move my order from the original to a new order number, and get it's status changed from "shipping" to "shipped". It should be here by Monday or Tuesday. I greatly appreciate your helpful tips, which may have led to a solution if I wasn't already waiting on the one that Microsoft proposed, which should work after I get the external drive for the NetBook. Best Wishes to you! You jest, right?

Today the two disks arrived. I'm guessing 32 bit and 64 bit, but I haven't opened the package seal yet. Bravo for Microsoft! They got here before the external disk drive I ordered, but mail hasn't come today yet. And a finger flip for whatever automation adds the "You jest, right?" at the end of a submission...You jest, right?
