We have deployed the 14.0.5 Lync update to several clients before releasing it to all our uses and the updated clients all stopped working. All were working fine immediately prior to the update. The Lync software on these workstations uses kerberos for authentication. We verified that kerberos is working correctly on the machines (they are mounting shares via kerberos and the previous version of Lync worked, as mentioned).
After the upgrade Lync crashes upon launch. I have verified this on OS versions ranging from 10.6.8 to 10.8.4.
Reconfiguring the affected clients to use user name and password authentication (instead of kerberos) works around the problem, but we don't fancy doing that to hundreds of workstations.
Hard to believe that a problem this repeatable would get through QA.
Is there a fix for the 14.0.5 "fix"?
