Lync 2013 Client Crashing
I have had Lync 2013 x64 on my PC for a few months now, and it seems to crash ALOT. Usually after making a phone call, when there is an IM window open.

Do frequent crashes start happening only after you deployed the latest CU update recently (15.0.4551.1005: November 7, 2013
KB2825630)? Make sure that the pre-requisites have been fulfilled, namely:
prerequisites - MSO (KB2727096), MSORES (KB2817624) and IDCRL (KB2817626)

Can you please also check to ensure that you have no duplicate lync updates that exist in your 'installed updates' for that machine?
Incidentally, are you able to work on another machine and see if you get the same behavior (understood if thats not feasible).
Kind regards
Ben

Hi all
The issue has been for some time now. I thought that after the November update, it had subsided, but it came back after a week or so.
Lee - yes, I do have both those pre-reqs installed.
Ben - The issue doesn't appear to occur on another machine, hence I believe it's an issue with my PC. However, I don't want to have to reimage my PC, because of Lync crashing...
Cheers

Try to disable hardware acceleration.
Run regedit. Browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15\Common.
Create a New Key and name it "Graphics"
Select Graphics, right-click on the right panel and create a New DWORD (32-bit) Value and name it DisableHardwareAcceleration.
Enter Value data as 1.
Restart the workstation.
Launch Lync.
If the problem persists, check if you can find any errors in event log file.

Apparently one of the last Bluetooth drivers is causing Lync to fail at start up. Disabling your Bluetooth device temporarily fixes the issue, but not in all occasions.

Hi
This issue is intermittent, and never occurs at startup. It usually occurs after a phone call.
Thanks

Hi Stefan,
As mentioned above, try updating the bluetooth and/or graphics drivers.
I had this issue on a few workstations recently and the issue was related to the sounds card drivers. Try removing the audio device in device manager (don't delete the driver files when prompted) and reboot.
Also see if any new windows updates were recently installed.
