Lync 2013 Client copy/paste text issues
It looks to be a consistent issue in our environment (not sure if it is just us or everyone that uses Lync 2013) where it is very difficult to select text in IMs to copy/paste. There are many times where you want to copy a single IM -- containing the
person's name who said it, the text and the date/time it was said. In previous versions, this was not a problem at all. With Lync 2013, it is a complete pain in the ass to be honest. You go to select and it continuously flashes and it takes
a whiz just to be able to select the text and it's not reproducable. Many users have complained about this. If i try to select more than one person in the copy, it generally works better - but not perfect. I have to think this is a bug because
it should not be this difficult to select text, but strangely i only found a few folks complaining in comment sections of articles stating the same thing but no real answer. We are on Version 15.0.4623.1000.
If anyone can provide a solution to this, it would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Brandon,
Can completely relate to you regarding this. It appears that the flashing / glitching occurs as soon as you try to include the persons name as part of the selected text, as if I triple click the body text, or click and drag from the start of their body text,
it behaves as expected.
I too am running the latest client and would be very surprised if this behaves differently for anyone else.
Unfortunately I do not recall if this was the same with the 2010 client, or indeed earlier versions of 2013. If any testing you perform shows this to be the same regardless of version, you might wish to propose it's correction
here, which although not an official avenue, does hold some attention from Microsoft.
Kind regards

The problem still exists in 15.0.4649.1000

With the same version as noted above, I have the same issue. That's a HUGE oversight, as it should be expected for users to copy text from the chat dialogue. Can't believe the Lync team isn't fixing this...?

It is unbelievable that such an issue can be in a product released to customers.
What a headache, a typical Microsoft error...

So, I have to sign up for something to inform MS to fix something that should work in the first place? Nice.

I'm confirming this problem for v. 15.0.4693.1000 32-bit. This is just terrible :(

With 15.0.4649.1000 issue still persists. Terrible, annoying, pain in the ass does not even get close enough to the frustration I ma dealing with. Is there any known fix for this?

We at a major computer company in Texas are having the same issue on all systems. This was not an issue on Lync 2010.

I wake up every morning, praying that there is a fix release for this problem. Because when there isn't, every day is a living nightmare, trying to use Lync to perform a copy / paste function that Windows 3.1 seemed to do a better job of without
making you want to pull your hair out. I can't believe how many releases and updates have overlooked this.
