Lync 2013 Mobile Video calling

I have a couple of users, including myself, where I can make video calls on lync mobile with iphone 5C but audio only works one way. When I changed phones to an iPhone 5S it works perfectly fine. Another user has the same problem but not sure what phones he's using. Is there a setting one the iphone to get the audio working two way with video calling or is it just a faulty i

There is no option for this, so it's either an edge configuration issue causing intermittent problems, or it's the phone.  I'd double and triple check the edge settings. Make sure all internal clients can resolve the internal edge pool FQDN and they have access to that IP on ports TCP\443 and UDP\3478. Those ports are often missed or only open from the front end to the edge, also triple check all of the A\V ports and make sure they're open in both directions, that the NAT for A\V edge works in both directions (outbound traffic should also appear as the NAT, not the gateway itself), and that the proper A\V NAT'd ip is published in the topology builder.

I don't think it's a server side issue. Bc it works for some phones all the time while the phone I have never works. So I was wondering if there are known issues with certain iphones.  But bc it works all the time for one phone and never on the other phone, seems like an issue on the phone side.

Understood, I figured it would be worth double checking, but if it's very consistently working with one phone and absolutely not with another with the same user, it really sounds like the phone.  There are no known issues that I'm aware of with iPhone models related to this issue.  I'd see if you can get that phone's iOS version updated if it's not already to see if it makes a difference or try to find another 5C to see if you can replicate.  Short of that wiping the phone is all I can think of.

Hi newpotatoe,

What Id like to suggest is that update both the IPhone and Lync 2013 client to the latest version.

In addition, you can check your network quality. Also go to Lync Options and check the settings of the Require WI-FI FOR option.

Best regards,

Eric
