Lync 2013 Music On Hold

Hello.

Is there any possibility to play Music On Hold through Lync Server?

I executed Set-CSClientPolicy -EnableClientMusicOnHold:$TRUE -MusicOnHoldAudioFile \\somepath\defaulthold.wma.

Problem is that share. For example, mobile lync user or external lync user can't access this share, so no music on hold. Another problem is our old Polycom CX-700 Phones, which don't support MusicOnHold even with latest updates.

Is there any solution to provide MusicOnHold without this restrictions?

P.S. We are using Mediant AudioCodes 1000, it plays music on hold for PSTN calls.

There is no way to do it at a server level for client's that don't support it as you've found.  The only workaround is through the gateways such as a Mediant which can perform this function for you, which you've also already found out.

Sorry.

Hi,

Agree with Anthony. For PSTN users, you need to configure Media Gateway to achieve it. Please make sure that the Media gateway setting pass the music on hold to PSTN callers.

Here is a similar case may help you:
