MSDaRT System Sweeper definition updates
I do not know where else to post this. Created a new ISO with ERD 6.5 from MDOP 2010 and 2010 refresh . Neither will let me update the definitions after booting on the ISO. The error I get is 0x8050800c. I told the ERD wizard to download the latest definitions. Running the update definitions option, brose or download, after booting the ISO causes this error. I have tried updating the files manually by extracting the files and copying them into the Engine folder but after booting the ISO this causes system sweeper to error out with the same error.

It is working now. I created a new ISO and told it to download the definitions. Booted the ISO and it had the current definitions loaded without errors.

Hi,
First, I would like to share you the following article:
How to Add Definitions for Standalone System Sweeper to the MSDaRT 6.5 Boot CD
Since we only discuss Windows 7 Security issue in this forum, regarding the issue in Windows XP, I suggest you create a new thread in following forum. Thank you for your understanding.

You can get DaRT in the Microsoft Desktop Optimization Pack but it's not really worth the money. The 6.5 version's worthless removing threats since the Standalone scanner doesn't work due to this issue and you can run combofix or other tools.
Might want to stick with UBCD or something if you want the full toolset.

I recently has this issue again and i ran chkdsk /r on the drive and it repaired it and allow system sweeper to work correctly. This was using dart 6.5 on an xp machine.

sorry for the late reply but this is the first result i got when i googled the same error code 0x8050800c
I just posted to let anyone else with this problem know that you need at least 1gb of ram to use standalone system sweeper, as it and its supportng os runs completely from RAM

Wow, I was getting that same error code 0x8050800c and could not find a reasonable answer. Turned out the
system I was running it on only had 512MB. Stuck in an extra 1GB, ran beautifully afterwards. Thanks for the hint to look at the obvious system requirements. Duh!
p.s.: wouldn't it be great to have just a simple RAM check built into System Standalone Sweeper?
