Malwarebytes reports MS Security Center problem.
After installing Windows Security Essentials (MSE) I ran Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (MWB). It reported this:
Registry Data Items Infected:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Security Center\UpdatesDisableNotify (Disabled.SecurityCenter) -> Bad: (1) Good: (0) -> No action taken.
Is this suggesting that MSE is to blame for this registry problem (if it is indeed a problem) or perhaps it was a problem that existed on my system before I installed MSE and just now showing up because I didn't run MWB ahead of the MSE installation?
How should I "fix" this issue?

It is likely a pre-existing condition.
Assuming XP, open the Security Center - from Control Panel and click on Change the way Security Center notifies me. You can toggle the notifications as desired.
