Manage printers not in toolbar using windows 7 professional on a dell E6410 notebook
I am using a brand new Dell E6410 notebook with Windows 7 Professional version and the "Manage Printers" is missing from the toolbar when I highlight each one of the four printers, 2 of which are on the Home Network and 2 are on the Work network.. How can I get the "Manage Printers" button on the toolbar so I can follow the instructions in this Microft URL: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Automatically-switch-default-printers-between-home-work-or-school

You're in Devices and Printers Window Correct? You're saying that when you click on any printer...you do not see the Manage Default Printers button on the toolbar in the DEVICES and PRINTERS window? Are these printers locally connected printers or network printers? For example on my computer, I have two printers one a USB at home, and one on the network at work. Theoretically I do not have two network printers, but the Manage Default Printers button is there. If you ensure you're in the devices and printers window...not sure what else to do. You might try deleting the Network Locations...and reconnecting to the respective networks. TO do this open the Network and Shareing center. If you hover over your "Active Networks" icon...should look like a house, a bench or an office building depending on what type of network you selected when you first connected, you will see that your curso turns to a hand pointer. Click on the icon, and it will open a dialog box asking you to change the name and the icon of the active network. Look to the lower part of that dialog box and you will see an option to Merge, or Delete network locations. Click on that link and delete the network locations in the resulting dialog box. Close out of that window, and restart your computer. That's about all I can offer on that one... r/ johnJohn Wildes | Senior Enterprise Architect | United Airlines | Desktop Engineering
