Mapped Drive Issue
I am trying to map a drive on a Netgear external drive, using Windows 7. One machine I use works just fine, the other will not hold the mapping. Working with Netgear Support, they found an instance on a Microsoft forum that says there is a
bug with Windows 7 mapping for persistant drives. Can anyone help?

If
the issue still exists on the problematic clients, please also try adding the following registry subkey on the problematic client to check it works.
Steps:
a.
Click Start, click Run, type REGEDIT, and then click OK.
b.
Locate and click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\NetCache
c.
Click Edit, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
d.
Type SilentForcedAutoReconnect ,
and then press ENTER to name the value.
e.
Double-click SilentForcedAutoReconnect .
f.
In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.
Besides,
TCP load balancing option can also cause Mapped drive not connection issue. Please check if you have enable it.
