Mapped Drive losing connection?
I own a small hardware store with three main till and a server machine. I have the tills mapped to my servers f: as it holds all the sales data and runs the till programs. Every now and then when i try and run the till program on my till, it says it cannot
get a connection to the database (held on the servers f:). I have to continuously re-map the drive? Have tried changing a few setting on the server like disabling automatic disconnection of drives when the exceed logon hours etc but nothing seems to work?
This is what i have tried already:
start>Run>
%SystemRoot%\system32\secpol.msc /s
-
(Local Security Policy)
Applied these setting on both Server and tills:
***Local Security
Policy\Security Options\Microsoft network server: Amount of
idle time required before suspending a session: change to 99999
***Local Security
Policy\Security Options\Microsoft Network server: Disconnect
clients when logon hours expire: disabled
Applied this to Server only:
***Local Security
Policy\Security Options\Microsoft Network access: Shares that
can be accessed anonymously: add the word 'data' on a new line
Doesnt seemto work? Any ideas?

Hi Dan,
The issue could be network adapter related. I suggest updating the network adapter from the manufacture. If the issue persists, please check if the following KB is helpful.

If any Security Software or firewall is running, temporary disable it. You also can access to the server to check the network connection.
