Mapped Network Drives At Startup
I am planning on creating a bat file that runs at start-up that will map 3 network drives using net use. I have a couple of questions: As the bat file will run at start-up every time should I set persistent to yes or no? What happens if the network path is not available when the bat file runs? Will windows map the drive and make it available when it comes online? How can I ensure my mapped drives are always available when the network path is? I am not running a server on this network just two Windows 7 machines.

Hi, 1. As the bat file will run at start-up every time should I set persistent to yes or no? How can I ensure my mapped drives are always available when the network path is? Refer to: Net use 2. What happens if the network path is not available when the bat file runs? Will windows map the drive and make it available when it comes online. In this situation, it would fail to map drive; you should remap your drive, because the bat file just runs one time at logon. Hope it helps.
