Mapped local folder to Drive Letter and getting File Access Denied
I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium. I mapped the drive G: to a c:\users\public where there exists a folder called \locks Windows 7 gives me a File Access Denied error when I try to set g:\locks as the value for Borland's BDEAdmin.exe Paradox NET DIR parameter. I've tried running BDEAdmin.exe under the administrator context. I've changed the User Access Control settings. Also, it can't be mapped to c:\users\public\locks for other reasons. Any thoughts on what I need to change so that I can set this Parameter

Did you check the share permissions? Default setting for a new share is Read Only. (Cannot tell that in detail for the Home edition of Windows 7, since I usually use the Advanced sharing.) Does the logged in user account have a password? Can you open the mapped drive in Windows Explorer and write stuff to the intended location manually? Best greetings from Germany Olaf

Thanks Olaf. The shared permissions include write. The password has been removed from the account the share is accessible from Windows Explorer and I can write to the location manually I found a work around. The share does not have to be on the same machine so I moved it to a different machine that all workstations can point to.

Hi, You may check the credential in the Credential Manager or add a new one for accessing. And check the sharing setting, because I assume that you use the IP address for mapping locally. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
