Mapping network drives and offline files
Hey everyone
I have an issue with some files coming from a file share server (Samba on ubuntu 8.04) going to a Windows 7 box.
One share folder is mapped to Y: and has two folders within it. One of the folders has been configured to be always available offline. Lets say Y:\One is always available offline and Y:\Two is not.
When the server is on, more often than not I will be unable to access Y:\Two, giving the error "Y:\Two is not accessible. The file is currently not available for use on this computer." Also, depending on the user logged in to the 7 box some sub folders
of Y:\One will be inaccessible.
If I manually browse to \\serverName\anotherShareFolder\ it asks me for the password to \\serverName, even though I can see that password is remembered in the Credential Manager. After that, Y:\Two's error message changes to "\\serverName\shareFolder\Two
is not accessible...." and goes on to complain about permissions. After waiting a bit, the Y:\Two folder become accessible.
I'm entering the same password each time, and telling Windows to remember it each time. Any ideas why Windows won't use the password that it has remembered?
Cheers
Ramo

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately that doesn't help.
Any other ideas?
