Maximum Logged On Users in Windows 7
I understand that, before Windows Vista, the Maximum Logged On Users was 10. In Windows 7, the limit is 20.
I have a workstation that I would like to share files with 15 other users. Knowing the 10 user limitation of Vista, I performed an in-place upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate (x86) to get the higher 20 user limit.
However, when I run "net config server" Windows 7 still shows the 10 user maximum.
When I edit the Advanced Sharing properties of the shared folders, it allows me to share it with 20 simultaneous users. However, only 10 users can access the files before I receive a connection limit error.
What do I need to do to get the 20 user limitation in Windows 7?
Thanks!

The registry key to edit is here: \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services \LanmanServer\Parameters
Edit key "Users" to decimal 20 (or higher)
The Users key was previously at 10 because that is the limit in Vista.
I found the solution here:

Though the above article was written for Windows NT upgrades, the same bug still applies to Vista->Windows 7 upgrades.
