Maximum Password Length for Windows VPN Client?
I have a problem connecting via L2TP/Ipsec connection from a windows 7 client to a Linux VPN server, using PAP for authentication. I am using a special long password, which is 54 characters in length. The ipsec channel is establishing, but the login is failing, and the VPN Server logs indicate that the password is being truncated to only 48 characters. I am able to connect without problem when the password length is the 'normal' 12 or so characters, but I need to authenticate with this long password. Is there a 48 character limit to the password length accepted by the VPN client? Is there a setting, even registry setting, that I can change to increase this length? Thank you for any help.
