I have trouble setting up Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio and other softwares in Win 8.1. I get the an error message that I don't have the .NET Framework installed yet i do have the 4.5 version installed. So i downloaded the 3.5 version as requested but that won't install. Please assist me on this Compatibility issue.

I shall suggest you to run .NET Framework Cleanup Tool, it works on Windows 8 also.

We wonder if any error message was shown when install failure occurred.

EXE installation might not work for certain environments.
