Microsoft Defender problem
Dear Sir: I know I have a spyware problem since my computer runs constantly and strange things happen without my input. When I checked my Security Essentials it shows all security items on including Defender are turned on. However, when I click on Defender individually it says it is off. When I try to turn it on, it times out and I get an error message with error 0x800106ba. What is wrong here and how do I turn Defender back on? Also how do I scan for spyware when I can't get to the scan screen? Angelo

Microsoft Security Essentials includes its own antispyware program, so Windows Defender is turned off. There is no need to turn it back on since you cannot use two different antispyware applications.Carey Frisch
