Microsoft Forefront Protection encountered an error with event ID 6020 while performing a scan engine update.

HI

we have a error in the health status of our FPE 2010 console and we have below error

event id 6020

 Microsoft Forefront Protection encountered an error while performing a scan engine update.

   Scan Engine: Cloudmark

   Update Path: http://forefrontdl.microsoft.com/server/scanengineupdate

   Error Detail: An error occurred while processing the universal manifest.

Able to telnet the below and even Content Filter is enabled.

telnet cdn-microupdates.cloudmark.com 80
telnet lvc.cloudmark.com 443

Ours has also started reporting failed updates since about 2AM GMT this morning on both of our Edge servers.

when i have done the NSLOOKUP of cdn-microsupdates.cloudmark.com  it's resolving to the wrong IP address (68.232.34.73) instead of 93.184.215.73 and some it is not getting resolved. Suspecting  problem with that server and it is at microsoft end.  Is there any way to check with Microsoft team regarding this.

Isn't the address cdn-microupdates.cloudmark.com without the "s"... This seems OK when doing NSLOOKUPs but we have the same on our EDGE servers.

Ya it is a typing mistake.


But is there any way to check  this with Microsoft team.

same here -> cloudmark update error

 i switched from cu3 to cu4, but the error isnt fixed. i think the problem result by the cloudmark-server... wait & hope :)

same problem here. just started last night. if i try http://tracks.cloudmark.com/ in browser it goes to default apache page. i think the problem is on there end. that would be fine just wish someone would say the words. i get problems too, i understand. please just let me know its not my equipment. hahaha

Hi,

it seems to me that this is a problem with the distribuition server, because there is another threas reporting the same issues.

You should open a case with Microsoft to get the problem fixed.

Hi Everyone,

This should be addressed now.  This did not effect Cloudmark microupdates but was reflecting that the Cloudmark engine was not updating.  That said, this was mainly a cosmetic issue as the Cloudmark engine had no new updates today.

Hi everyone,

today cloud mark has been updated and console is green at last it has been fixed.

Ryan- i do have a clarification here as you said that "Cloudmark engine had no new updates", if that is the case then we wont see failed event and last check was failed on console instead it should show yesteraday as 7/03/2012 .when you see the console (before the issue) definition version was updated on 07/03/2012 and the last update was on 11/7/2011 and last check was failed.

but when you see the console today it showing a todays date. ok If i am wrong please correct me.

Ok however this has been fixed.  But my concern is that in case how do we infrom to microsoft.

Me too!!!

Last Friday 2 MPE cant update cloudmark engine too.

Microsoft Forefront Protection encountered an error while performing a scan engine update.
   Scan Engine: Cloudmark

   Error Detail: An error occurred while processing the universal manifest.

The MPE s Lifecycle ends dic2015.

Anyone knows the cause?

Same Problem since friday ..

Rename Cloudmark folder from Engines folder..

As per microsoft if we rename that folder FPE 2010 will automatically create new...

Any one have solution??
