Microsoft Product Wont Connect to Internet
Hi, Recently my Microsoft softwares stopped connecting to internet. Software such as Windows Live Messenger, Internet Explorer, Windows Security Essentials to name a few. I ran multiple anti virus software such as Sophos, Malwarebytes, and AVG. Though all of them picked some malware, but those were cured but my problems still persisted. Under services.msc windows update is also turned of and gives an error 0x80070057 when turned on. Windows live messenger give an error code 8004840a and Windows Security Essentials gives an error of 0x80080005. Internet Explorer wont open an page such as bing.com. However Google Chrome, Firefox, and Yahoo messenger do connect to internet without any hassle. I did perform ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew but that also did not fix my problem. Can anyone help me with this, Thanks!

Hi, First, please try system restore to go back to a previous time point to check how it works. If this issue persists, I suggest you boot into Safe Mode with networking to see what the result is. If this still exists in Safe Mode, run SFC command to check if it could fix this problem. Meanwhile, try to restart the Windows update service manually: 1. Open an elevated command prompt, type the following command: net stop bits net stop wuauserv 2. Then type the following command to check the result: net start bits net start wuauserv Alex ZhaoPlease remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
