Minimized program glows and does not open/launch from taskbar
Oh I hope someone out there can help!! I've been working with a user who is trying to launch a Windows 7 version of the Cisco VPN client. When trying to launch it either from the Programs listing, shortcut on Desktop or anywhere else, it immediately minimizes and "glows" as if it needs Admin approval before launching, except we are never prompted to "Continue" with Admin approval. Better yet, the mouse-over preview when the program icon is "glowing" in the task bar, is all black and will not open no matter what we try. Obviously this preview is incorrect. Even if we right-click the program from the task bar icon, and choose to "Open Cisco VPN client" it doesnt do anything, it just sits there. This thing will not launch and I've tried everything!! All other programs open fine Thank you!!!!!!!!!!

Hi, thank you for posting here. After checking your issue, it seems that the issue is caused by Cisco VPN client. What version of Windows 7 did you use? 32bit or 64bit? Cisco VPN client only compatible with 32-bit Window 7 system. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/Details.aspx?type=Software&p=Cisco%20Systems%20VPN%20Client&v=Cisco&uid=5&l=en&pf=0&pi=3&s=Cisco%20VPN&os=64-bit As Cisco VPN client isn’t the produce of Microsoft, I suggest that you should better ask Cisco for further help: Cisco Support Community Please note: we provide the third party link for technical use only. I had the same exact problem. I deleted the file vpnclient.ini at C:\Program Files (x86)\Cisco Systems\VPN Client. Then, I opened my VPN client and everything worked fine. -Vikram

This worked for me. Just out of curiosity, what made you think of this file?
