I've receive the following whenever I try to download software from the Internet:The description for event ID(1040) in source (msistaller) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necwessary registry information or the message dll file to dislay messages from a remote computer. You mean that you get this message when you attempt to install something that you downloaded. What are you trying to install? You're seeing this in Event Viewer, correct? Typically, this is just an informational message (a blue i in a balloon) as contrasted to warnings (! in a yellow triangle) or errors (X in a red circle). Are there other entries in Event Viewer related to this one? Do you get any other error messages? If so, please post them completely, without paraphrasing. Is there actually a problem installing anything? When in Event Viewer, click the 2-page icon just below the up/down arrows in the Event Properties. This copies the information shown in the Event Properties window to the clipboard. You can then paste it into your response here. Do these for all of the events related to any problem with installing this software.
