Multicast loopback not working
Am trying to run a multicast networking application that is using loopback to communicate from one process to another on the same system. Windows 7 with wireless home network enabled, firewall disabled, no other exotic setups. No joy. Is there a way to enable multicast? Previous versions of Windows required installation of Multicast Loopback Adapter which was a virtual network device.

Hi, Based on my research, there is no Microsoft virtual network device which is named Multicast Loopback Adapter. Is it a third party adapter or it is named Microsoft Loopback Adapter? If the virtual network device is Microsoft Loopback Adapter, I suggest you refer to the following article to install the virtual adapter. How to install Microsoft Loopback Adapter Windows 7 & Network Loopback Adapter Settings Thanks, Novak
