My Getac E100s running XP Pro SP3 do not roam fast enough with wireless when on Fork Lift Trucks
My Getac E100 rugged PCs run XP Pro SP3 and 802.11b/g wireless. When mounted on Fork Lift Trucks they often go off-line for 10 seconds (sometimes much longer) even though they are in wireless range. I have a Netgear WFS709TP smart wireless switch with seven WGL102 wireless access points and the WFS709TP handles fast roaming from access point to access point. In theory all the Getac E100s have to do is to change the radio to a new channel as the WFS709TP intelligently maintains the connection, IP address etc. I have temporarly switched off all security. Any suggestion gratefully received.1 person needs an answerI do too

HiI do not know where the Wireless Antenna is. It might be that it is masked (depending on the position) by the lift's Metal parts. It might be that you need an arrangement for an external Antenna installed at the top of the Vehicle. Jack-MVP Windows Networking. WWW.EZLAN.NET
