My PC is running extremely slow. The task manager says the CPU Usage is at 100% and the services.exe program is typically allocated 80 - 90% of the CPU.
I have run the Verizon Internet Suite Virus Scan on my PC (which took over 15 hours to complete the scan on a 500GB HD) and no viruses were found. In the Task Manager, it says that my CPU Usage is at 100% and typically 80-90% of that usage is dedicated to services.exe.Is this a virus?! and if so, how can I fix this when my virus protector doesn't recognize this as a problem?1 person needs an answerI do too

http://download.sysinternals.com/Files/ProcessExplorer.zipHey T.If you click.Start,Run.Then type msconfig. You may already know will bring you to a menu with tabs on the top.Click services and it will show you all the services.Uncheck the box.Hide all microsoft services and it will show the services that are not microsoft. You can try unchecking all these boxes except Security! Then you may want to click the startup tab and see what is starting everytime you start the pc.If you have too many programs at startup it will lag. Also if you have services like the printer running=lag. You don't need certain things to run all the time. And by the way.Did you scan in SAFEMODE?PS>This link on the top will get you a process explorer. When you Run the program it will show you all the processes and where they're from.It is a sweet program. You will see when you get it.I'm sure it will help your cause.Good Luck.
