I am going nuts on this. I have an XP computer and 2 others on Vista. At one point my Vista computers could see my XP and the shared printers. I did install Kaspersky Anti-Virus but not sure if there's settings in there I need to worry about. Even after Kasperky the computers could see each other.Here's the situation so far:All computers have the same workgroup nameNetwork discovery is set to "On" for both Vista machinesFile Sharing is "On" on both Vista machinesPrinter Sharing is "On" on both Vista machinesNetwork location is set to "Private"On my XP machine I have set the folders that I want shared as "shared"From my administrator account on the XP machine when I go to My Network Places to view Workgroup computers, I get the following message (which I've never gotten before): "Workgroup is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. The network path was not found."I also read on some forum to download and install the Link Layer Topology Discovery for Windows XP with SP2 which I have also done. I have run the Network File and Printer Sharing Wizard on my XP computer as well.A virtual drink to anyone that can help me get this resolved! :-)Dave

Here are the steps: 1. On the Windows XP computer, click Start, right-click My Network Places and click Properties to open the Network Connections folder. 2. Right-click the direct connection icon, and then click Properties. 3. On the General tab, Click Install. 4. Click Protocol, and then click Add. 5. Click the NWLink IPX/SPX/NetBIOS compatible Transport protocol, and then click OK. 6. Restart the computer. Hope it helps.

Hi Joson,Thanks for the suggestions. I initially posted the question on the Vista forum because it was the introduction of the Vista computer that seemed to cause the problems. Everything was working fine until that one change. Now I noticed that when I went back to the XP and ran the network set up wizard, it seemed to have fixed everything. Then I noticed one setting which I changed on the Vista computer: Password Protected Sharing I changed from "off" to "on" and then my network was again gone. That one change on the Vista computer seemed to have lost the XP computer. I spent hours again...and then finally decided to run the XP network setup wizard again. That fixed it again. What exactly is that wizard doing to fix the VISTA computer changes I've made?Thanks,Dave
