It wont even recognize that there is even a CD/DVD drive(I believe that's what it's called). Can someone please tell me a way to fix this? Also, I'm fairly sure this isn't virus related. Thank you.

Hi, Does the CD/DVD drive show in Device Manager properties? If not, please check the drive in BIOS. I suggest downloading the latest driver of DVD-ROM from computer manufacture, then installing in clean boot manually. If the drive still cannot be recognized, the issue also may be caused by hardware corruption. You need to contact manufacture to examine it.
