My desktop has XP 32 bit... can it be upgraded to a 64 bit and, if so, what is involved? Trying to find a wireless mouse for my desktop and have had some issues with the Logitech brand. Purchased a new Microsoft wireless mouse and noticed that it was compatible for XP 64-bit... this is why I'm trying to find out. Starting to think this may have been the problem with the Logitech brand... all input is appreciated!1 person needs an answerI do too

You must have a processor which supports 64-bit operating systems. You would find this out by checking with the processor mftr. (Intel or AMD) or the computer mftr. if your desktop is a branded one (HP, Dell, etc.). In addition, you must have 64-bit drivers for all your hardware. There was quite limited driver support for Windows XP 64-bit so I would not recommend switching to it even if your processor supports it. Then of course you would need to purchase Windows XP 64-bit (if you can even find it any more) and do a clean install.Logitech makes excellent wireless mice. It is very unlikely that your issues had anything to do with 32-bit vs. 64-bit computing. However, without knowing anything about your computer I can't say what was the cause of your difficulties.MS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!

Windows XP 64-bit is somewhat non-mainstream, I would not advise you attempt to use it unless you have a very good reason and know what you are doing. Your mouse issues are unlikely to be related to your use of the standard, 32-bit, Windows XP.
