NIC Driver issue - have better drivers, Vista x64 refuses to let me install
There has to be a way to make Vista allow me to install updated NIC drivers. I have a Broadcom NIC and am working with their tech support got some new drivers to try out to fix some network performance problems. I just can't figure out how to get Vista x64 Business to allow me to install - it keeps insisting that 10.1 is "better", not allowing me to install 11.43 version I have now. I copied the .inf files to the C:\Windows\inf directory, which didn't help. There has got to be a way to force the installation of better drivers, despite whant Vista thinks.

Figured it out: First, I have to hit F8 while booting and select Disable Driver Signature Enforcement Second, when updating the drivers, I had to select "Let me Pick from a list of device drivers on my computer", then select "Have Disk" on the next screen.
