NIC presetn but cannot connect to OS
Win7 Ultimate 64 bit Intel DH55TC board i5 processor 8 GB Memory I a build this system and loaded OS & then ran Intel driver setup. All completed. The Network & Sharing shows no network. Device manger shows Intel 82578DC gigabyte installed but cannot start (code 10). The system worked before I installed (from scratch) win7. Any thoughts on how to get the NIC to connect to the OS?John Lenz

Hi, According to your description, it seems the NIC driver issue. I suggest to perform these tests to solve this issue: 1 Update BIOS, you can download it on: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&ProdId=3143&DwnldID=19422&keyword=Intel+DH55TC+board&lang=eng Please Note: Since the website is not hosted by Microsoft, the link may change without notice. Microsoft does not guarantee the accuracy of this information. 2 Make sure the driver of NIC driver is compatible with Windows 7. Reinstall the NIC driver, also update the driver to the latest version. 3 If there is no Windows 7 driver of NIC, you can try to install the driver with Vista Compatible Mode: · Right click the driver and click the Properties option. · Select the Compatibility tab. · Select the Run This Program in Compatibility Mode option. · From the drop-down list, choose the operating system you ran before upgrading to Vista. · If necessary, select the option to run the program as an administration. · Click OK. Furthermore, you can contact network card manufacturer for further help. Hope it helps. Regards, Leo Huang TechNet Subscriber Support in forum. THX, I updated BIOS and the NIC connected. My system builder assured me that I was current but a newer version was available.John Lenz
