Hi, This issue may occur if the program is not compatible with Windows 7. Please first go to the manufacturer's website and download the latest version. If it does not support Windows 7, try installing it as below: Install program under compatibility mode & Administrator level =================1. Right click on the installation file (setup.exe) and click Properties.2. Click on the Compatibility tab.3. Select “Run this program in compatibility mode for.”4. Choose Windows Vista (Service Pack 2) from the drop down list.5. Select “Run this program as an administrator” option under the Privilege Level topic.6. Click Apply, click OK. Right click on the setup file and choose Run as administrator to install it again. If it still does not work, contact it's distributor for direct assistance. Vivian Xing - MSFT

Vivian - I don't think that will help Waheeb. The file in question - npptools.dll - is a component of Windows XP. It isn't included in Vista nor Windows 7. If the program requires the DLL file, then the only solution would be to get ahold of a copy of the DLL and stick it somewhere the app can find it. Waheeb - You've got a couple of options. 1.) If you have a copy of a Windows XP install CD, you could look for the file in the i386 folder and expand it using the expand tool. Put the file in the same folder where you've got switchsniffer installed. It should find it there. 2.) If you don't have the disc, and don't have access to a machine with Windows XP handy, you can always download the XP Mode tool from Microsoft.com, install it and copy the file from the VM's C:\Windows\System32 folder to your primary hard drive. Of course, in order to do this trick, you'll need either Windows 7 Professional or Enterprise/Ultimate. 3.) If you've got a friend who has XP, you can also try copying the file from their machine. 4.) As a very, very last resort, you can search for the file on the Internet. You will find a number of sites offering the file as a download. BE EXTREMELY CAUTIOUS should you go this route. Considering you have NO idea where the file has been and it's not an official Microsoft site, the file may be modified and can cause more problems than it's worth.
