NTFS WRITE Permission question
if WRITE permits: Create Files/Write Data, Create Folders/Append Data, Write Attributes, Write Extended Attributes & Read PermissionsWhy when WRITE is DENYied, does the user still have (retain)Read Permissions ?

Hi, Could you please give us more detail information, such as an example or an exact scenario? If you mean that you denied the permission of creating new items in a folder but you allowed reading the files in the folder. When you want to create a new file, this action will be denied, but you can still read the contents in the folder. Thanks.Nicholas Li - MSFT
