Need help regarding in vista update and net framework 3.5sp1
Hi guys, recently I dont know why i can not update in my vista. I tried many times but all turns out with the error , "failed:12 updates Erro(s) found: code 8007002" One of the update inside is netframwork 3.51sp1. So follows the instruction to fix this error code but still no luck. I also tried search online with various method but still can not make it work. Then i think its net framework 3.5 sp1's problem, so i tried to install it, with the method of downloading the remover, remove all the net framework on my vistasp1 then reinstall it. After install the framwork 1.1, i can not install 2.0 with the error of the system already installed. and 3.0 with the error of please "turn window feathure on or off" I've tried to turn all the window feature on, and off tooto attempt the installation but still gives me the same error However, When i install net framwork 3.5, it is fine. When i try to upgrade it 3.5sp1, it just say setup error. I tried to go to "Event Viewer" to check the log, and i found thisWindows Installer installed the product. Product Name: Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0. Product Version: 2.0.50727. Product Language: 0. Installation success or error status: 1603.and this"The Windows update "Security Update for Windows (KB960225)" could not be installed because of an error: 2147942402 "The system cannot find the file specified." (Command line: ""C:\Windows\system32\wusa.exe" "C:\Users\EricChen\AppData\Local\Temp\Windows6.0-KB960225-x86.msu" ")"I tried all the standalone updates with the failed updates in window update, it all turn out to the same error could not be installed because of an error: 2147942402 "The system cannot find the file specified." (Command line: ""C:\Windows\system32\wusa.exe" "C:\Users\EricChen\AppData\Local\Temp\Windows6.0-KB960225-x86.msu" ")"Any idea? please help.

Hi Eric, as this forum focuses on Windows Vista security specific issues, I recommend you submit a support incident to our Windows Update support group: https://support.microsoft.com/oas/default.aspx?gprid=6527 You can also visit Windows Update newsgroup via the following link: http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.aspx?dg=microsoft.public.windowsupdate The reason why we recommend posting appropriately is you will get the most qualified pool of respondents, and other partners who read the forums/newsgroup regularly can either share their knowledge or learn from your interaction with us. Thank you for your understanding. Sean Zhu - MSFT

Hi Eric,I had the same problem, I had been downloading all my updates (using the automatic setting)with no problem. All of a sudden I noticed in my download history, that 5 updates were tryning to be downloaded every day with it failing at least 20 times, so I knew something was wrong. So tghe first this I deid was reset from automatic to "notify me before install" feature to stop getting the failewd downloads added to my history.I too tried everything I could think of, (in my limited capacity), but could find no solution. Even tried to restore to an earlier restore point, also no work.So I opened up a"support incident"with Microsoft support, I have worked with them for two weeks and 20 emails, they keep shoving me up to a more experienced technician, I am now on my 3rd Tech. I have followed all instructions from all the techs to the letter with no success. I told her that I didn't understand why a multi billion dollar Corp like Microsoft couldn't solve what appears to be a minor problem in their own product.Theysuggested that I use the Vista CD that came with my CPU, and click on the repair part when it comes up. I did that, it took about an hour and a half, after which it said that it failed because the computer I'm using was not compatible with Vista Home Premium. VistaHome premium came already installed on my computer when I bought it.They are nowtelling me that I need to use the Vista Disc and do a complete restore of my computer back to when I bought it. This entails some pretty technical things that you have to do, I am an amateur on the computer and hesitate to try complicated technical things to this computer, because one thing I've learned that if you don't know what your doing and do the wrong thing, hit the wrong button, etc, you can really screw things up.Hows that for top notch microsoft support!!!Bob T
