Network (and internet) access impossible with a modem !
Hi Under Windows7 RC 7100 with a modem (Nokia N91, withpcsuite driver last version), the internet connection worked well at the beginning, and after a few days, without changing anything, it now always says "no network access", with the yellow triangle. I'm in the African bush without any local help but crocodiles for suicide in case I can't solve the issue with you All troubleshootings have not detected any issue. The modem is still connecting to the computer (Dell studio 17), IPs are appearing, but "no network access". On another computer under xp, the internet access is working fine. I have already: - unticked the IPv6 - switched off the other network cards (ethernet and wireless) in order to avoid conflicts - switched off the windows firewall - rebooted - tried public and office networks (home network impossible without IPv6) Please help! Thks in advance.

Thanks for your first encouraging answer; All I have been able to do is to order (as administrator) ipconfig /flushdns and it worked, (but not ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew: it says that no card has the authorized status for that operation). What else should I do in order to chek my "DNS configuration"? In the modem details, it is also still saying (literally translated...) : "state of the NAP incompatible with the protection..." (But the Windows firewall and antivirus AVG 8.5 are switched off.) Thks in advance...

ahahahha you funny tho(dont get me wrong im not happy for whats going on in your pc)..ok and ywah flushing dns cache helps sometimes but in this case,i would say you can try some free public dns server ((safe thing to do by the way) to see if it estabilishes the internet access try these ones:primary:208.67.222.222alternate:208.67.220.220i think you might know how to do it but just in case i'll guide you briefly here:open network sharing>>change adpter settings>>choose the adpater which you connect to internet and right click on it and choose properties>>>go to networking tab look forIpv4click properties againand then set manually those 2 dns i provided and see if it works ....if so keep em if you want they safe and fast and you can look up for alternate free public dns servers also its your choice!!!Hope this helps and let us know if it worked for ya!Kind regards,RR

Thks so much. You are doing some Good in your life. My neighbours will fast this time. With these 2 manual DNS, the network access is restored! Hope it will last, and that it will not be necessary to re-enter them every time. Strange that Windows7 made a kind of change without any intervention of my own (installation, settings, or update), and that the troubleshooter did not help this time. Billions of people now use complex machines that remain big Misteries for them...
