Network Location problem
Hello. I have problem with with Network Location on one of my computers. Two of my computer are connected in LAN and one of them is configured with ICS. WIN01 has two NICs, one for internet access and one for LAN connection, WIN02 has only one NIC for LAN connection. IP settings are like this WIN01: NIC1 has my public IP assigned by ISP NIC2 is static assigned 192.168.137.1 255.255.255.0 no default gateway, ipconfig shows that it is 0.0.0.0 WIN02 NIC1 is using DHCP of ICS configuration and has 192.168.37.23 255.255.255.0 192.168.31.1 Problem is that on WIN01 and I can't configure NIC02 to be Home Network in Network and Sharing Center. Network is unidentified and I simply can't change type even if Network Discovery is enabled. I need Network Local of NIC02 to be configured as Home Network so I can join computer to HomeGroup. Unfortunately editing Network List Manager Policies isn't resolving the problem for me. Thank you in advance and best regards

Unless you made a typo the IP address on WIN02 is on a different network than WIN01. Both need to be on the same network (192.168.137.x or 192.168.37.x) for the two computers to "talk" to each other.

Thank for reply. I actually made two typos. Computers are in same network and basic networking works fine. WIN01 and WIN02 can talk to each other and WIN02 can access the Internet through ICS on WIN01. Just can't configure NIC2 on WIN01 as Home Network and set up HomeGroup. Correct settings for NIC on WIN02 192.168.137.23 255.255.255.0 192.168.137.1
