Network Shares are Slow with Vista Enterprise SP2
Hi,
I have Vista Enterprise SP2 32-bit in a Hyper-V virtual machine. I am using a internal application that has heavy interaction with a network share on 2008R2 that is on another virtual machine on the same server. When I run the application on
a Server 2008R2, it completes in two minutes, which is expected. When it runs on Vista it completes in eight minutes (4 times slower), which is unacceptable. I am forced to use Vista because it is the latest OS supported by Windows Embedded CE
6.0 Platform Builder Service Pack 1.
I have tried turning autotune and RSS off, I've added CopyFileBufferedSynchronousIo=1 to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\System, disabling Remote Differential Compress, disabling Windows Meeting Space and I've also tried the
experiment in safe mode with networking. Nothing works.
Is there something else to try? Is there a way to clone 2008R2's network settings for vista, since they work?
The network card reports as: Microsoft Virtual Machine Bus Network Adaptor with a link speed of 10 Gbits (ten gigabits).
Thanks,
John
