Hi,What does the "give a folder free" mean? Do you like to share a folder between Windows 7 and Windows XP?If you would like to share a folder on Windows 7, we can refer to the following article.

I´m sorry to point my question here. All the german forums didn´t solve my problem. I need a "Seven" Guru!:-)In Windows95-XP I was easily able to watch the whole network. That means in my university all the workgroups with each computer in the network. There where 100s of workgroups. In Windows 7 there isn´t such a possibility, maybe im to blind to find it so please help. If I click network I only see my own workgroup with all the PCs that are with me. But nowhere to click to go above and look for other workgroups. To show you what I mean I copied that XP window and marked the searches options in red. The function contained in windows 7 is marked blue. (Sorry for the German Windows version, I hope you understand what I mean)Thank you for your help!!:-)

if you got two hard drives a easy way is to right click on the folder name. then select file shearing , advanced sharing and advanced sharing again. you will see the rest. You can even setup passwords. Good luck.
